The kale salad here is so refreshing. The kale is massaged until tender, and it's paired with dried cranberries, almonds, and a light lemon vinaigrette. It's simple but so flavorful.

Love this place. We can always count on Mission Bistro to satisfy our hungry bellies during our weekend getaways! We arrived just early enough to beat the crowd. We ordered the baby beat salad, avocado toast with smoked salmon, and the mussel dish. All were made with fresh ingredients. The mussels tasted super fresh! And baby beat salad was a must have. We almost always order beat salad at every restaurant that offers it. And this was by far our favorite one.

Came on a Monday afternoon at 1pm for lunch and it was pretty empty and as time passed it definitely got busier! The lunch menu was incredibly well priced and everything was great. We loved our server, she was super attentive and always checked on how we were doing. We started off with the calamari($16) and crab cakes($18). I thought the calamari was perfectly fried but the breading lacked flavor. It went well with the tartar sauce. The only thing I did not like was that there were certain pieces that were soggy and the texture was almost like slimey tofu. I would not get the calamari again. The crab cakes were amazing though. Perfectly creamy with real crab and a rich sauce to go with it. I love how the crab cake breading was perfectly crisped with panko. The crab cakes were well seasoned, not dry or fishy. Would definitely get again. Our mains came out after which was the short rib ravioli ($29) and mussels ($19). The mussels were super fat and the sauce was soooooo good. We had to ask for extra slices of break to soak it up. It was salty and umami with a hint of sour from the lime. The ravioli was also divine with a rich shallot sherry cream sauce with demi-glace which we also soaked up with the bread. I loved the texture of the short rib in the ravioli and it really tasted like hand made pasta. I had a great time eating lunch here and would definitely come back again to try their bistro burger.

I give this place 4.5 stars. I came here on a Sunday evening in late December 2024 via car. Made reservations for this place a couple of nights beforehand and they sat me and my dog inside. The reason why this wasn't 5 stars for me was because their Heirloom Salad was just alright to me. I gave them more than just a 4-star because they had a menu for dog-friendly dishes and even brought a water bowl for my dog. So amazing - we felt so loved, seen, and welcomed! I got my dog the BurGerrr Patty, which was a regular burger except without any seasoning. It was $14 and my dog loved it. I have a really small dog so I was able to save the rest for another meal for him. Parking wasn't the easiest. I ended up paying, what ended up being, $15 in the lot across the street. Still cheaper than Ubering there with my dog though. They made me a mocktail that was kind of sweet and kind of like ginger ale - loved it. Only $5! The dish that really earned them the 4.5-star from me was their Black Cod. The fish was beautifully cooked and caramelized. The miso sauce was sweet and savory - absolute perfection in my book. The sauce got on the cold soba noodles and made it even more delicious - didn't know that was possible. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a try if you want to bring your dog with you or if you're nearby. Highly recommend!

This is one of those times when I really wish that Yelp would let us give half stars because this place is a solid 4.5 star restaurant. We came early on a Tuesday night (around 5:00pm). The restaurant was fairly empty, which is to be expected. The service was prompt and friendly and we ordered a Caesar salad & bread service (pictured) as well as an heirloom leaf salad & steak frites (no picture! I was lost in the moment and just started eating!). All were delicious and prepared well. A funny moment was when the owner's 3 1/2 year old son wanted to serve us a dish of ketchup for our fries. Such a cute helpful little boy and the way that his father and the staff interact with him shows what a warm place this is. Really glad we came here.

We had brunch reservations on an October Sunday morning and we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. This was probably our favorite meal during our entire time in Carmel. Great service (thanks, Kara!), yummy food (for people and dogs), and lovely location. My husband ordered the liege waffle and I had the eggs benedict. My eggs Benedict had smoked salmon and greens, on top of a deliciously seasoned Ad astra sourdough bread and the butteriest fingerling potatoes. Our pup had the chicken breast and scarfed it down of course. 10/10 would come back again. Kara was a great host, even offering travel tips during our time here in Carmel.

My friends I went up to Carmel to celebrate my bday. We stopped here for brunch. I got the shashuka and it was so delicious. I really liked that they added feta it enhanced the flavoring. I would say my only complaint is I wish the slices of bread were bigger haha cuz I wanted more to enjoy my meal. Overall! Tasty food! Nice staff and everything came out rather quickly.

The cutest little restaurant we found while strolling through the streets of carmel looking for a bite to eat before heading down to the beach. We had our pups with us and we stopped to check out their menu. Luckily they had dog-friendly outdoor seating because the lunch menu sounded enticing. We got seated right away and Kara our server (saw your name on the receipt) even offered water for the pups. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water which was so refreshing with lime, reminded me of topo chico. Kara made a few suggestions and let us know that everything was locally farmed, caught, and raised except for the french fries lol. They even had a dog menu with human grade food, but our pups already ate that day so next time! For appetizers we ordered the monterey bay calamari and heirloom leaf salad. So yummy, highly recommend. One of the best calamaris we've ever had, the perfect color and light batter without being overly seasoned and it paired well with the sauces. I only wish there was more on the plate. I still miss that citrus vinaigrette and the saltiness of the ricotta salata on the salad. The lettuce was so crisp too. For the main entrees, fiance got the bistro burger cooked medium with fontina cheese and I got the short rib ravioli. We didn't wait long at all after our appetizers were finished. Hands down one of the best burgers we've ever had and the fries were great too. I dipped the fries into my ravioli sauce, which tasted kinda like a vodka sauce which I love. The short rib was so tender and each bite of the ravioli felt like a warm hug. Also highly recommend both these dishes. Can't wait to come back next time to try the rest of their lunch menu, which I'm sure will be just as delicious seeing as we left no crumbs whatsoever. Beautiful, romantic ambiance, amazing customer service, and even better food quality. Keep up the good work! I would recommend this bistro to anybody.

On Monday April 29th, we had been on the road for over 6 hours. After checking into our bed & breakfast, we wanted to find somewhere nearby for dinner. We initially tried a restaurant we had eaten at before as they had a dog friendly outdoor patio, but were unfortunately told that they had a 1 hour wait even though there were not a lot of customers. They did not even bother putting down our names, and we just left. Fortunately, I had bookmarked Mission Bistro already and wanted to eat here as well so we walked over. They also had tables outside and my husband asked if we could sit outside since we had our dogs with us. To our surprise, they told us that we could bring our dogs inside if we wanted. We started off with sparkling water for everyone and our server brought a bowl of water for our dogs. The interior has an open kitchen, nice wood details, and pop of color with the cushion and all the artwork. My mom ordered the Swordfish (grilled Pacific swordfish, romesco, roasted cauliflower & eggplant, almond, Nicoise olives), my husband ordered the Beef Cheek Pappardelle (braised Australian Wagyu, fresh egg Pappardelle, Big Sur Chanterelle mushrooms, Grana Padano Cheese), and I ordered the Steak Frites (Teres Major cut of shoulder, demi glace, crispy frites). Overall, it was actually my birthday and glad we ended up here. Everything tasted wonderful and we got awesome service from the staff. As we were walking back, we had to pass the initial restaurant who told us they had a 1 hour wait, and when we looked, they were still pretty empty. We would have still been waiting lol
